In 1998 he started writing on many fashion magazines, among them the monthly Donna, L'Uomo Vogue, MF Fashion, Activa, Hot and also on the website of italian GQ magazine, where he had his fashion blog, lepilloledistefano, and he was probably one of the first to talk about fashion from a male point of view using this new medium. He has been fashion director of the quarterly bilingual magazine Label and then of Made05 magazine, which later became MadeWithStyle.

He has also been a contirbutor for Velvet, and Now he contributes for Modem, he has a personal space on Fondazione Pitti Discovery’ site, he is editor at large of and of, writing a personal column also in the first printed issue of the magazine distributed at Pitti and at the Man Fashion Week in Milan last June 2015; he is also fashion editor in chief of Positive Magazine and fashion editor of Hachi magazine. As a freelance stylist he is working /has worked for L'Officiel Hellas, Caleo, David Magazine, Fucking Young, The Fashionisto, Male Model Scene and DScene, Toh Magazine, Visionarios, Codigo Unico, Jon and many other on-line and printed magazines. But as a stylist Stefano is also dedicated to consulting for brands and styling their advs and lookbooks.

In 2010 he founded his own webzine which is now, along with the blog lepilloledistefano, contained within the site In June 2015 was also created the project, a site that combines the promotion of young designers, selected by him, with a small e.commerce. He has also been brand ambassador of Zalando, not only by writing many articles for the site, but participating with a workshop at the project Casa Zalando in Rome. As a fashion teacher he has been working at the IED in Milan since 2006, but he also works at ISIA in Faenza,  Accademia di Moda e Costume in Rome and Domus in Milan, his main course is fashion publishings, but he has also taught Contemporary fashion, styling, fashion trends, blogging, fashion icons.
