Born in Empoli (Florence), Andrea Varani began his photographic career in 1982 in his very early twenties, transforming a passion (passed down from his father, an acclaimed amateur photographer) into a profession that he still carries out today with undiminished enthusiasm and curiosity. Towards the end of the 1980s he developed profitable relationships with several of the most famous fashion magazines of that time, such as Donna, Mondo Uomo, Uomo Vogue, and Vogue Gioielli, to which he gave significant contributions. In 1993 he moved his business to Milan where some of the top agencies assigned him prestigious advertising campaigns, including those for Algida, American Express, Audi, Bulgari, Ballantyne's, Campari, Cantieri Benetti, Ermenegildo Zegna, Laura Biagiotti, Louis Ferraud, Mercedes Benz, Vodafone, Wella, and Panasonic, etc. The early 21st century marked Andrea Varani's comeback as a fashion photographer, his first love. His work can be found not only in Italy but also in Germany, Spain, Mexico, India, China and Japan. He currently commutes between Tuscany and Mexico, while still keeping the rest of the world in his sights.
